This large sofa size oil painting of a harbor scene features tall sailing ships and is reminiscent of the 1960's. Van Gaard paintings were featured in television shows such as "I Dream of Jeannie" and "The Brady Bunch". Vanguard Studios, founded by Lee Reynolds Burr, with his brother Stuart to give average American families the chance to own a real oil painting. The paintings were sold through a network of Vanguard showrooms, furniture stores and interior decorators around the country throughout the late 60s and 70s. Signed by Van Gaard in the upper left corner. Label on back of painting reads Original Painting by Vanguard Studios, North Hollywood, CA.  In wood frame.
