Hand painted round cigarette cup made by Waylande Gregory in the 1950s. Has thick walls & black pinstripes around the top in a spoke like pattern.
Gregory was a master ceramicist and considered one of the most important American Art Deco ceramic artists of the period. His work is represented in collections in the Whitney, Metropolitan, and Smithsonian museums. His sculptural works have been in over 170 shows in 11 countries. His fine decorative works have been sold at Tiffany’s, Dunhill, and Bergdorf Goodman. This is a rare piece to start your collection.
